- Morning spent in the old roman city of Chester with a visit to Chester Cathedral, a walk on the ancient city walls and a look at the roman remains currently being excavated
- Lunch in Chester - The Brassiere at The Mill Hotel overlooking the Chester Canal
- Afternoon visit to Erddig – One of the most fascinating Country Houses in Britain in the ownership of the National Trust.

Wednesday
- Full Welsh breakfast
- Morning drive via the market towns of Ruthin and Denbigh into the heart of the Snowdonia National Park
- Lunch: Royal Oak Hotel, Betws y Coed
- Afternoon: Visit the world-renowned Bodnant Gardens at one of the most colourful times of the year
- Depart Bodnant for Caernarfon via the walled town on Conwy and its great Edwardian Castle

Thursday

- Depart Caernarfon for Porthmadoc and the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway.
- Embark on the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway for the ride to the slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog
- Lunch: River Garden Restaurant, Beddgelert
- Visit the grave of Gelert before driving back to Caernarfon via Llanberis Pass with time to visit the great Edwardian Caernarfon Castle, which dominates the town
- Dinner and overnight accommodation: Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon.
Friday

- Drive south via Porthmadoc to visit the Italianate village of Portmeirion

- Afternoon visit to the walled resort town of Tenby with time to explore this very busy little town
- On the way back to Carmarthen, visit Dylan Thomas’s Boathouse at Laugharne
